Patent Renewal Fee Calculator
Using the Patent Renewal Calculator
First, what’s the difference between a patent renewal, a patent annuity and a patent maintenance fee?
In reality, they are all the same thing, and all refer to payment of fees to the Patent Office to maintain your patent (or other IP right) in force. Different terminology is used in different jurisdictions.
What will the calculator tell me?
Based on your specific patent details, some of which our system will be able to look up from Patent Office Database information and some of which you will need to enter, the calculator will provide you with the actual patent office fee in the PTO local currency, and our total charge (including all fees and charges), and the deadline set by the patent office for the payment of the next future fee. Once you have an account with RenewalsDesk, you can set your currency and see pricing in your preferred currency. Sign up here to create an account.
How do I calculate maintenance fees for several patents at once?
Logged in users can perform and save unlimited patent maintenance fee calculations. They can also upload many patents at once for bulk calculations. Sign up here to create an account.
Are fees due on both applications and granted patents?
It depends on the patent office in the given jurisdiction. If it is not clear to us whether a case is granted or not, we may assume that it is granted to reduce the possibility of a fee not being paid.
What does ‘Save to Account’ mean?
If you already have a RenewalsDesk account, you can save this renewal to your account by using the same email address that you registered your account with. If you don’t yet have an account, click on the ‘Save’ button. The patent will be saved and you will be redirected to the sign up page. Once you have signed up, this renewal information will be waiting for you in your account.
